Effective January 1, 2026
To ensure fairness and accountability, the following policy will be strictly enforced for all bird sales, including chicks, bantams, game fowl, turkeys, and other poultry:
🔒 Mandatory Deposit:
A 15% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve any bird(s).
• No exceptions and no holds without a deposit.
• This deposit will be credited toward your total at the time of scheduled pickup.
🚫 No-Shows & Cancellations:
• No-shows for scheduled pickups will result in loss of deposit and immediate placement on the No-Sale List.
• After two cancellations, you will also be placed on the No-Sale List, even with prior notice.
💡 Reminders:
• Deposits help us manage our farm responsibly and ensure serious buyers only.
• Please communicate promptly if any issue arises—your respect helps us help you!

At K&R Farm of NC, LLC we are committed to providing high-quality, fertile hatching eggs from healthy, well-cared-for birds. While we take every precaution to ensure safe handling and honest practices, please understand that purchasing hatching eggs comes with inherent risks beyond our control.

1. Fertility & Hatch Rates
• Fertility Guarantee:
All eggs are collected from actively laying, fertile pens. However, we do not guarantee hatch rates due to variables like shipping, handling, and incubation conditions.
• No Hatch Guarantee:
We cannot be held responsible for poor hatch rates caused by postal delays, incubation issues, or mishandling after the eggs leave our care.

2. Shipping & Handling
• Shipping Method:
Eggs are shipped UPS with careful, cushioned packaging. We offer pickup by appointment if you prefer to avoid transit risk.
• Breakage Policy:
While we package with extreme care, we are not responsible for any damage caused during transit. Insurance is available upon request.
• No Refunds or Replacements:
Due to the nature of hatching eggs, we do not offer refunds, replacements, or exchanges for shipped eggs. We add extra to all orders when available.

3. Local Pickup
• By Appointment Only:
To ensure freshness and minimal handling, all pickups must be scheduled in advance.
• Freshness Guarantee:
Eggs for local pickup are less than 5 days old at time of sale, stored properly to preserve viability.

4. Egg Varieties & Identification
• Available Breeds:
Eggs will be labeled by breed where applicable (e.g., Silkie, Cochin, OEGB, etc.). Mixed pens will be clearly marked.
• Color Variations:
Eggshell color may vary depending on hen and breed but does not affect viability or breed quality.

• Minimum Purchase Requirement:
• A minimum of 3 chicks per sale (to prevent loneliness and temperature issues).
• Straight Run Unless Otherwise Noted:
• Most chicks are sold straight run (unsexed). We do not guarantee sex unless explicitly labeled.
• Health Guarantee:
• We guarantee our chicks are healthy at the time of sale. Once they leave our care, we are not liable for losses due to transport, setup, or management.
• Pickup Only:
• We do not ship ducklings, or poults. All pickups must be scheduled in advance to ensure safe transfer.

2. Bantam Fowl
• Breed Availability:
• Our bantams include popular varieties like Silkies, Cochins, and OEGB. Availability may vary by season.
• Care Information Provided:
• Each purchase includes basic care instructions and follow-up support if needed.
• Show/Breeding Quality:
• Select bantams may be available as show or breeder quality. Otherwise, all sales are considered pet or hobby farm quality.

3. Game Fowl (American Game & Other Breeds)
• Sales to Responsible Owners Only:
• We sell game fowl only to customers who demonstrate responsible intent and understanding of breed behavior.
• No Sales for Fighting Purposes:
• K&R Farm of NC, LLC does not condone or support animal fighting in any form. Any suspicion of this use will void the sale and ban future purchases.
• Rooster Policy:
• Game roosters are sold selectively and often individually. Proper housing and containment are required to prevent injury to other animals.

• No Returns or Exchanges on Live Animals
• For biosecurity and animal welfare reasons, we do not accept live animal returns.
• Biosecurity Notice:
• Please do not bring animals onto our property unless pre-approved. This protects our flocks and yours.

• To reduce stress on our animals and ensure personal service, all visits must be scheduled.
